Research reveals highest-paid jobs for women

Research from Savoystewart.co.uk has revealed the top ten industries that have the smallest pay gap and offer the highest-paid jobs for women in the UK.

The research analysed figures from the Office for National Statistics and identified the industries that have a pay gap of less than 10 per cent.

The research found that the IT sector offers the best-paid jobs for women, with female information technology and telecommunications directors earning a salary of £67,767 (6.7 per cent less than men).

Advertising and public relations directors came in second place on the list at £58,403 (8 per cent less than men).

This was followed by train and tram drivers, with women in the industry being found to earn £48,537 (0.7 per cent more than men).

Taxation experts and electrical engineers were both found to be high-earning roles for women, with a yearly salary of £45,279 (2 per cent more than men) and £44,538 (3.7 per cent more than men) respectively.

Other high-earning roles included purchasing managers and directors at £41,212 (9.2 per cent less than men) and human resources managers and directors at £41,163 (8.7 per cent less than men).

Legal professionals featured on the list, offering a salary of £40,871 for women. However, the pay gap was higher at 10.3 per cent.

Higher education and teaching professionals and secondary education and teaching professionals also featured on the list, with a yearly wage of £38,210 (8.6 per cent less than men) and £33,523 (6.4 per cent less than men).

Lowest

Minister for Women and Equalities Justine Greening commented: “Britain has the lowest gender pay gap on record, there are more women in work than ever before, more women-led businesses than ever before and there are now women on every board in the FTSE 100.”
