PwC to help boost commercial opportunities for female-led businesses

PwC is launching a scale-up programme that aims to boost commercial opportunities for female-led businesses.

The Big Four accountancy firm is teaming up with Blooming Founders, a London-based company that focuses on providing support for female entrepreneurs, to launch the Scale | Female Founders programme.

Opportunities

Eight female-led businesses have been selected to take part in the programme, with the successful founders being given the opportunity to work with PwC and Blooming Founders to improve their pitches, boost commercial opportunities, and engage with potential investors, decision-makers and other business leaders.

The programme comes as part of PwC’s Scale initiatives, which have helped 100 scale-up businesses to raise more than £120m in equity collectively. The launch of Scale | Female Founders also coincides with the launch of PwC’s Tech She Can Charter, which aims to boost the number of women in tech roles.

The accountancy firm also showed its support for women in tech last year, when it became a signatory of the Women in Tech Charter, a scheme that aims to improve gender diversity in the tech industry.

Commenting on the importance of innovation and the Scale | Female Founders programme, PwC’s Women in Tech Leader and Tech She Can Charter Founder Sheridan Ash commented: “Innovation is all about connections, it’s a collaborative effort and it thrives in networks that contain a diversity of people, skills and types of organisations, small and large.

She added that the main aim of the programme is to offer those connections supporting women to be successful and develop their business.
