Professional Advisor launches Women in Financial Advice awards

Investment and retail finance news magazine Professional Advisor has launched the Women in Finance Awards for 2018.

The awards, which are backed by the Chartered Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society, celebrate the achievements of women working in the financial advice sector, as well as those working in the UK’s broader financial services sector.

Nominations

Nominations for the awards are now open, with Professional Advisor and its sister title Investment Week calling for people to nominate trailblazers in financial advice, inspirational women, or rising female stars in the financial services sector.

There are several categories for this year’s awards, with women being given the opportunity to be nominated for awards such as Financial Advisor of the Year, Investment Adviser of the Year, Role Model of the Year and Contribution to Gender Diversity.

Women working in fintech are being acknowledged this year with the Woman of the Year – Fintech award, which celebrates women who have helped to boost the sector and make fintech an appealing career choice for women through mentoring, education, training or leadership.

Women who have returned to work in the UK’s financial services sector after maternity leave and helped women working in the sector to achieve a good work-life balance are also being celebrated with the Most Inspiring Returner Award.

Potential

In addition to celebrating the achievements of women working in financial advice or in the wider financial services sector, the Women in Financial Advice Awards also aim to recognise women or men who are helping to tackle the issue of gender diversity or maximising the potential of women.

Nominations for the awards are open until 18th May 2018, and the winners will be announced on 10th October 2018 in London.
