Female entrepreneurs advising women to set up business

Over 80 per cent of female business owners say that they would recommend that other women set up their own business, as said by the Women-owned Micro Businesses Trend Report from Vistaprint.
The report surveyed 1,200 female entrepreneurs from the UK and US, and revealed that respondents are confident about their business, with over 50 per cent expecting their enterprise to financially improve this year.
When asked about gender divides in business, 60 per cent of respondents said that they believe that females have equal or greater professional opportunities than males.
The report also found that 67 per cent want more help to support them with business-related concerns like credit or tax incentives, 33 per cent would like to receive guidance from other owners of micro-businesses, and 34 per cent would like to have access to mentoring or networking opportunities.
The report comes after recent research from YouGov showed that over 50 per cent of UK entrepreneurs felt that setting up their own business was a much easier process than they thought it would be.
Commenting on the research, JoJo Maman Bébé Founder, Laura Tenison, said: “The study carried out by Vistaprint is encouraging; growing numbers of female-launched companies have sprung up.”
She added: “However, there also appears to be a lot of talk that women-run businesses are stilted by lack of funding or ambition. I would suggest confidence and fear of failure is the strongest reason for women-run companies not growing to the next level.”
Tenison went on advise individuals to ask for additional support if they need it, whether it is financially or in any other area, as this will provide the shot of confidence to move to the next level.
