UK investors continuing with plans despite Brexit, research shows

A report from Market Finance Solutions has shown that investors in the UK are forging ahead with their investment plans despite Brexit.

Out of the 1,000 investors who were surveyed, 37 per cent believe that the upcoming Brexit negotiations will provide a good opportunity for short-term investment.

Results

The report also showed that 30 per cent of the surveyed investors are considering alternative finance, and 33 per cent are taking a short-term approach to investments.

With business rates set to rise by as much as 18 per cent over the next five years, respondents also revealed which forms of investment are most attractive to them.

Over 35 per cent said that they believe buy-to-let is an attractive investment, and lower interest rates have resulted in 45 per cent of UK investors being more open to other types of investment.

Opportunities

Market Finance Solutions Chief Executive Officer Paresh Raja said: “UK investors have spoken loud and clear, signalling their intent to continuing pursuing investment opportunities during the two-year Brexit negotiations that are now underway.”

He added that the research shows that investors are doing this with a more open-minded and short-term mentality as they look for different forms of investment to secure returns.
