Prior to joining LSBF, Shane has worked with prestigious companies including IBM, NatWest and Amanresorts, holding positions of responsibility, prior to becoming a full-time academic. Since 1996, Shane’s work has been predominantly based on luxury hospitality and tourism development. He has taken a prominent role in national level UNDP funded projects and curriculum development for vocational courses.
As an academic, Shane’s focus was mainly on management, market research, business strategy and HR. Teaching on programmes leading to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of Gloucestershire and Anglia Ruskin University, Shane has also taught on professional qualifications awarded by EdExcel, SQA, CIM, CMI, CTH and ABE. He has been a lead examiner for UK based awarding bodies for over a decade. Shane has also acted as a dissertation supervisor for master’s level qualifications.
Being a UK qualified teacher with QTLS and a Chartered Marketer, Shane holds a Master of Arts degree and an MBA. His Doctoral research, which he conducts at Brunel University, is based on widening participation and access to executive education. As academic director for LSBF Executive Education, Shane oversees the development and delivery of all of the courses offered by LSBF EE and its partner organisations across the globe.
