Grant Thornton tops Experian Corpfin league again

The Experian CorpFin league table is a respected metric for the UK accountancy and financial sectors, and this year Grant Thornton UK has come out on top for the fourth time running.

The position recognises the firm's standing as the number one financial adviser to UK companies by deal volume, having advised on 128 publicly disclosed deals last year.

Uncertain start

Sharifi went on to say that although there had been an uncertain start to 2015, deal activity rebounded sharply throughout the year. He cited a stable political backdrop and supportive financial and economic conditions as factors that played a significant role in the second half of the year in terms of deal activity.

The firm's corporate finance team also received a number of other accolades for the year, being named Financial Due Diligence Provider of the year at the British Private Equity Awards and also winning three awards at the MCA Awards.

The Experian CorpFin research, which the league table is based on, also revealed that the UK deal market is the most active it has been since the start of the financial crisis-induced credit crunch, with the highest recorded total deal value since 2000.
