LSBF Joins Advance HE to Strengthen Commitment to Higher Education

The London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) continues its commitment to providing exceptional education by announcing a brand-new membership with Advance HE. This collaboration emphasises LSBF’s commitment to world-class teaching and its dedication to shaping the future of higher education.

Advance HE is a renowned organisation with the primary objective of advancing teaching and learning in higher education. They work with institutions worldwide supporting staff, students, and society to deliver support through a variety of channels. With three specific priorities at the forefront of everything they do: enhancing confidence and trust in higher education; addressing systemic inequalities and meeting the needs of students and society; and supporting the work of their members, Advance HE can work to deliver palpable solutions to the challenges in higher education.

This new membership will allow us to enhance the quality of our learning and teaching techniques while simultaneously advancing Advance HE’s mission to unlock the potential and transformative power of higher education. Advance HE has a well-established reputation for working with institutions worldwide, making this a noteworthy collaboration that we are excited to work on.

A membership with Advance HE creates several benefits for LSBF staff and students including professional development opportunities, quality assurance and enhancement, research and innovation among many others. One of the primary benefits of this new membership is that it allows our staff to gain access to activities, workshops, seminars, and training sessions that are specifically designed to enhance teaching practices and professional development. The goal is to equip educators with the skills and knowledge needed to create engaging and effective learning environments.

Our staff will also be able to apply for fellowships to facilitate their personal and institutional commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to be recognised for their exceptional work with the National Teaching Excellence Awards which are highly esteemed accolades in the academic community. Moreover, the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTSF) and the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) award programmes will be open to our staff, allowing them to be acknowledged for their outstanding hard work and dedication to their students’ success.

With the help of Advance HE’s membership, we will be able to gain an in-depth understanding of the progression of our students and pinpoint areas that need attention and intervention. By analysing surveys completed by our students, we will be able to understand and enhance our students’ academic experience and course engagement, helping improve retention. With a focus on research and innovation in higher education, we can collaborate with Advance HE on research initiatives and projects. This not only enriches the academic experience for faculty but also contributes to the advancement of educational practices, benefiting students in the process.

Advance HE is recognised for its expertise in quality assurance and enhancement in higher education. As a member, LSBF gains access to a wealth of resources and best practices in these areas through the Advance HE Knowledge Hub. The Hub brings together thousands of higher education resources covering a wide range of topics and themes all in one place. This ensures that our programmes and processes can adhere to the highest standards of quality, providing our students with a world-class education.
