UK’s first boot camp for cyber security entrepreneurs launched

HutZero, a government-funded project, has launched the UK’s first boot camp for cyber security entrepreneurs.

The project is run by Cyber London (CyLon) and the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT), and is intended to help entrepreneurs build their businesses.

Cyber security

HutZero was set up as part of the government’s National Cyber Security Programme.

24 entrepreneurs will participate in a one-week boot camp, after which participants will receive three months of guidance and mentoring from experts at HutZero.

Demand

Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport John Whittingdale said: “The UK's strong and growing digital economy is changing the way we live and work.

“As technologies continue to evolve there will be an increased demand for secure products and services, and this new programme will ensure the best ideas from our brightest minds can help keep the UK safe in cyber-space.”

CyLon Founder Jonathan Luff added: “The HutZero programme is a fantastic example of what can be achieved by harnessing the combined resources of industry, business and academia.”
