IT company to create 400 jobs with new Birmingham hub

One of the largest software providers in the UK has opened a new hub in Birmingham, which is expected to create 400 jobs.

Advanced Computer Software’s new flagship hub is based in Birmingham’s Mailbox complex.

The hub covers 45,000 sq ft of space and will be replacing the company’s base in Birmingham Science Park in Aston.

Key milestone

In addition to creating 400 jobs in Birmingham, Advanced Computer Software’s recruitment drive is also expected to create hundreds more jobs over the next 18 months.

Chief Executive Gordon Wilson described the launch of the new Birmingham office as a “key milestone” in the company’s business growth strategy.

He said that the talent acquisition programme “represents a great opportunity for individuals considering a career in IT.”

“We are passionate about identifying dynamic, high performing and motivated individuals who are invaluable to our future expansion and who will make a major contribution to our company culture,” he added.

He stated that Birmingham is the “clear choice”, as it has the UK’s largest regional urban economy and is the most popular location outside the South East for “mass millennial migration.”

Significant growth

Birmingham City Council Chief Executive Mark Rogers welcomed the news, stating that the hub will create “hundreds of new training and career opportunities for the city's workforce.”

“With over £1 billion of investment in the last year, the Greater Birmingham region is enjoying significant growth.

"We are building an unprecedented amount of modern office space and investing record amounts to improve transport links,” he said.

He added that the arrival of Advanced Computer Software “demonstrates the strength of Birmingham's offer for major British brands looking to locate here.”
