WeWork searching for start-ups for its London-based programme

US-based workspace provider WeWork is searching for start-ups in London to take part in the company’s UK WeWork Labs programme.

The company is now accepting applications for the programme, which will be based out of its London Fields facility in Hackney.

Mentoring

WeWork is searching for start-ups to fill 100 spaces at its facility and will be offering mentoring, exclusive events and access to the company’s community of global creatives as part of the programme.

Founded in 2010, WeWork has become a leading provider of co-working and flexible workspaces. It will be the first time that the company has launched its WeWork Labs programme in the UK, with the London-based programme being modelled on the company’s US scheme.

The programme will give start-ups access to experts across a number of industries, including technology, design, fashion and art, and will also provide entrepreneurs with opportunities to help them develop their business ideas.

WeWork will be selecting businesses this month to participate in the programme, with successful applicants then moving into the company’s facility on 1st April.

Balanced

WeWork Managing Director for the UK Joe Gaunt said: “London has long balanced its status as a tech hub, financial centre and enabler of creative industries, with new talent emerging from each of these sectors and every corner of the city.”

Commenting on the programme, he added that the WeWork team is excited to accept applications and to start creating new success stories.
