ASOS searching for world’s most innovative startups

Online fashion store ASOS is searching for fashion technology startups to help it enhance its e-commerce site.

The company has partnered up with Wayra UK for the programme, which will provide support to startups to help the company to develop products and services that will reward its customers.

Leader

Startups that participate in the programme will receive direct investment and be provided with mentoring over a period of eight months. Wayra UK will also be offering office space for the companies at its headquarters in Central London.

ASOS currently has around 11 million customers and receives 3.2 million visits to its website daily. ASOS CIO Cliff Cohen discussed the programme, stating that the company has “always been known as a digital leader and this partnership will help us continue to serve the needs of our customers as they evolve.”

He added that the potential for the company, its customers and the companies it ends up working with is “huge”, and described Wayra UK as “the perfect partner” to work with on the search.

Perfect

Wayra UK Director and Telefónica Open Future UK Director Gary Stewart stated that ASOS “is perfect for anyone interested in e-commerce, adtech, and fashtech.”

Whilst ASOS is looking for start-ups for the programme in these areas, it has stated that it is not searching for startups in areas such as wearable tech, fashion design space or 3D printing.

The company will be accepting entries for the programme until 23rd May. Semi-finals will be held on 26th May at ASOS offices, and finals are scheduled for 2nd June at the Wayra Academy.
