Totaljobs research reveals London is most popular location for graduates in 2017
Research from online jobs board Totaljobs has revealed the recruitment trends for graduates in the first half of the year.
London was found to be the most popular location for graduates seeking work, with over 5,000 graduates searching for jobs in the city every month.
The data also showed that the number of skilled graduates remains strong, with graduate applications increasing by 200,000 year-on-year despite the drop in the number of advertised graduate jobs.
In addition, the most popular sectors for graduates were revealed, with engineering topping the list.
Other in-demand fields included analytics, which was searched for 16,000 times; marketing and accounting (both searched for 11,000 times); and law and finance (both searched for 8,000 times).
There was also an increase in applications across a number of sectors, with a rise of 30 per cent year-on-year.
Accountancy and banking received nearly 100,000 more applications.
