Deloitte offers programme to improve employment prospects

Deloitte's Society Partnership initiative is on the lookout for up to 40 charity partners in its ongoing efforts to provide services to improve people's employment prospects.

The company has offered to support charities and social enterprises on a new three-year corporate social responsibility programme, and applications are open now.

Combined programmes

The new Society Partnership programme combines the charity partnership programme and the Social Innovation Pioneers programme.

The new scheme will aim to help improve employment prospects for people across the UK.

Examples of the benefits that successful applicant organisations will enjoy include pro-bono support, discounted rates and a share of funds raised through the scheme.

Organisations will be eligible if they can articulate how they already have a positive effect on people’s employment futures by raising aspirations, improving skills or developing leaders.

Ambitious target

Deloitte head of corporate responsibility, Claire Burton, said: "We have set an ambitious target to focus our efforts on affecting a million futures, and we are seeking innovative and exciting new society partners to help us achieve this in the UK. We are looking forward to seeing a broad range of organisations apply and working together to really make an impact that matters."

The Big Four firm said it was difficult to predict how much would be raised through the scheme because the new programme has a regional focus rather than a national one as the previous programmes had.

However, Deloitte raised more than £2m for its three national charity partners in its last two partnerships combined.
