Law firm partners with business accelerator to help entrepreneurs

Scottish law firm Harper Macleod has signed a three-year partnership deal with business accelerator Entrepreneurial Spark.

The firm will support around 700 entrepreneurs by helping them understand the legal processes involved in setting up, running, and scaling an entrepreneurial venture.

Advice

Harper Macleod will be offering expert and specialised legal advice, as well as supporting “Chiclets” (Entrepreneurial Spark’s term for entrepreneurs) through the organisation’s Scottish Hatcheries.

The lawyers will be offering one-to-one support to entrepreneurs in each Hatchery every fortnight. In addition, the lawyers will hold weekly legal clinics, Masterclass events and networking events.

Crucial

Entrepreneurial Spark Chief Entrepreneuring Officer and co-founder Lucy-Rose Walker said that it was crucial to get access to expert information and advice on the many legal issues that the organisation’s Chiclets could face, whether it was contract law, regulatory issues, investment-related issues or intellectual property.

She added that Entrepreneurial Spark was confident that the Chiclets would receive exceptional legal advice and support over the next three years.
