Hertfordshire has been shortlisted in two categories for the 2016 Better Business for All Awards. The awards are part of the Better Business for All programme, which was set up to create partnerships to identify problems faced by local businesses and provide them with support.
A shortlist of locations has been revealed, with Hertfordshire being shortlisted for the Partnership category for âestablishing a strong partnership and producing tangible products and positive outcomesâ and the innovation category for developing its own training programme.
Impressed
The Better Business for All judges were impressed with Hertfordshireâs âdedication and commitmentâ in forming strong partnerships and with the countyâs development of its own training programme, which has proven to be a success.
The judges stated that they were impressed that Hertfordshire had âtaken the initiative to develop training based on their needs rather [than] waiting for others.â
âThe increased business satisfaction scores and success in achieving the primary objectives demonstrate the success of Hertfordshireâs approach to this training and the high attendance rates are particularly impressive,â said a report from the Governmentâs Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO).
Good news
Cabinet member for enterprise, education and skills, David Williams, stated that it is âreally good newsâ that the council has been recognised for its âdedication and commitment to encouraging strong business partnerships.â
Cornwall, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, and Leicester and Leicestershire were also shortlisted for the Partnership category, whilst Kent and Medway and Worcestershire Regulatory Services were selected for the Innovation category.Â
Winners of the awards will be announced at the Better Business for All Shared Learning Day on 8th March.Â
