Salaries for part-qualified accountants are expected to rise in Milton Keynes, which could indicate a high demand for accountancy skills according to recruitment company Robert Walters.
A survey by the company showed that salaries are expected to increase by seven per cent for part-qualified accountants compared to four per cent for all accountants, whilst CIMA-qualified accountants will see an increase of ten per cent.
Demand
Robert Walters Associate Director Janine Blacksley commented on the findings, stating that the increase in salaries could be seen as “an example of supply and demand.”
She added that increasing confidence in the employment market means that professionals who stayed at their job due to a lack of confidence and external opportunities are now beginning to explore other roles.
The salary increase may also be linked to a lengthy period where salaries did not increase, or a result of more employers choosing to recruit part-qualified accountants instead of fully qualified professionals.
Opportunities
More opportunities for young people to develop skills in accounting are being provided in Milton Keynes.
Several apprentice evenings will be taking place in the area between 14th and 17th March as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
Organised by the Ofsted Grade 1 National Apprenticeship Providers, the Apprentice Insight Evenings will give young people the opportunity to develop skills and experience in areas such as accounting, IT, financial services, and business administration.
