Luis Fernando Arrazola,
Colombia
Luis Fernando Arrazola, a Colombian MBA UoW student, used the opportunity of studying at LSBF to fulfil his dream of living abroad and improving his English. The truly international experience of living and studying in London taught him to view the business environment from a truly global perspective. Luis graduated in 2012 and found that having an MBA and international academic experience had notable improved his professional profile. He received numerous job offers from multinationals in Colombia and became a City Manager at Groupon Inc after being back for less than a month, a far higher position with more responsibility than he had held before following his dream and coming to LSBF. “I had always dreamed of living abroad and knew that studying an MBA in London was the perfect means to make this happen. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at LSBF, meeting people from all over the world and practicing my English by being immersed in the UK for a long time. I enjoyed the international scope of the MBA, which taught me to view businesses and companies from a global perspective. Interacting with a diverse group of students has shaped me into an international professional with understanding of cultural differences and a proficiency in working with multicultural teams.” What's your advice for new students? If you are studying abroad, do not just focus on your studies – the experience is also very much about the people you meet and the places you visit – interact with the whole environment that your studies brings you in touch with. Taking advantage of living and studying abroad is one of the most enlightening experiences that you will ever have.
