    • Organise
Prepare your revision wisely, in accordance to your timetable. Don't forget to allow some time for recreation as this is key. Plan your route to the exam hall, and leave plenty of time on the day to avoid nasty surprises. Make sure you have all documents and stationary you need. Gather/pack them well in advance.
    • Rest
It's vital that you're firing on all cylinders on the day of the ACCA exam, so make sure you get a good night's sleep before hand. Also try and avoid re-visiting your study materials right before the exam. It's best to keep a clear head. Don't stay up all night revising, feeling drained will not help you to achieve your potential. A leisurely breakfast followed by a walk is a great start to any exam morning. Eat something that contains glucose to help energy get to your brain. Avoid stressful situations, plan your journey in advance, so it doesn't put you off or confuse your thoughts.

    • Plan your answers
Take a deep breath before you start - Make the most of your designated time by planning your answers. A little time spent at the beginning will save a lot of rushing at the end. Make sure you read everything carefully before you start too.
    • Stay focused
Give every question the attention it deserves. Ensure you devote greater consideration to the questions that offer more marks. Don't waste precious time trying to answer a less valuable question you're not sure about. Attempt questions you feel comfortable about first, helping you boost your confidence and recollection.
    • Structure
Ensure your answers are as clear as possible. For longer answers, keep time aside to prepare a structured plan of what to include in each section. Headings, underlines and uniform spacing are useful tools for emphasising key points, and will help the reader understand your work more easily. All answers should also be clearly numbered. Make everything as simple as you can for the assessors.

    • Assess
Always read your answers through before you finish, allow yourself 10mins for this ideally. Revisiting them can often highlight areas that need fine-tuning. Whether spell checking or inserting extra information, if you've planned well this should be no problem.
    • Relax
Congratulations, the exam is over. What you do next is up to you.
