ACCA + Master in Finance and Investments

This module will teach you to analyse the internal and external factors affecting an organisation, in order to improve its competitiveness. You will develop an advanced knowledge of international financial statement analysis, as well as the ability to use specialised analytical tools.

Acquire sufficient knowledge of the quantitative methods used in investment finance to apply them to financial markets. By studying quantitative methods and their application simultaneously, you will gain a crucial advantage over other candidates.

Upon completion of the module, you will be able to:

• Design and apply quantitative tools in financial markets.
• Critically evaluate possible changes that result from model variance.
• Compute basic valuation analysis for financial markets instruments.
• Evaluate the input variables and their outputs using quantitative tools in financial markets.
• Collect, analyse, and present your findings to varied audiences.

Understand the crucial role played by investment and financing decisions in generating and capturing value, and in giving companies an edge over competitors. You will also study the means by which businesses raise finance and manage finance – making you an invaluable asset to any company.

• Compare various investment decision rules and apply the process of capital budgeting.
• Analyse the concept of corporate capital structure and compute cost of capital.
• Determine and critically evaluate the economic benefit of various types of financing.

Minimum entry requirements

• Please note there are separate entry requirements for ACCA. Students should have two A Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five subjects, including English and Mathematics. If students don’t have the above, they may be accepted through the Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) route. Please contact ACCA directly on this.

Foundations in Accountancy route (FIA)

• Must be 18 or over
• Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Accounting and Business via Foundations in Accountancy can transfer to the ACCA Qualification and commence their studies from F4 onwards
• Gain exemptions from ACCA exams BT, MA and FA (F1-F3)

Graduate entry route

• Relevant degree holders from ACCA-accredited institutions may be exempt* from up to nine exams within the Applied Knowledge & Applied Skills levels and register directly at the Professional level
• Holders of recognised business and/or accounting degrees may also qualify for exemptions*
