LSBF celebrates Queen’s Awards with new scholarship programme

To mark the recent triumph of receiving the 2013 Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the London School of Business & Finance (LSBF) has launched a new exclusive scholarship programme that will benefit students worldwide. Under the new programme, LSBF will be awarding 50 scholarships of up to £6,000 each to students looking to study selected LSBF full-time and part-time courses.

The UK’s most prestigious business accolade, the Queen’s Awards is conferred by HM Queen Elizabeth II, on the advice of the Prime Minister. The recipients are organisations which have demonstrated outstanding performance in international trade, innovation and sustainable development. Boasting a global presence and a student body from over 150 countries worldwide, LSBF is now one of a select group of private higher education institutions to have won the award.

Commenting on the new scholarship programme, LSBF’s Rector & CEO Prof Maurits van Rooijen, said: “LSBF is proud of the role it plays in expanding access to global education and contributing to the continuous development of individuals and communities. Our new scholarship scheme was specifically created to offer greater opportunities to ambitious individuals from many different walks of life, and from right around the world.”

The Programme

The new scholarship programme is open to UK, EU and international applicants. They will take the form of reductions in tuition fees and are only available to students applying for a qualifying LSBF undergraduate, postgraduate, ACCA or CIMA programme.

Students can apply by completing the online form  and registering their interest with a programme consultant before 15th July 2013. The scholarships only apply to the August and September 2013 intakes. Qualified candidates will be considered based on relevant employment experience, academic merit and programme selection.

Global Mindset

The global mindset adopted by LSBF is reflected on the school’s business operations as well as on the high levels of diversity and multiculturalism present at its classrooms. With a diverse and inclusive approach to social responsibility, it is part of the LSBF’s mission to help build skills not just for the benefit of individuals, but also for the communities where students, alumni and business partners live and work.
Prof van Rooijen concluded: “Our courses actively teach values that are vital for fostering a socially conscious business community. Many of our students come from developing countries, and are able to make real contributions to their local economies after returning home with international experience. At LSBF, we like to believe that we shape not only the careers of global professionals, but we also help our students to become truly global citizens.”
