Everywoman launches UK search for leading female entrepreneurs

Leading female entrepreneurs

Everywoman, an organisation that celebrates the advancement of women in business, has launched its annual competition to find the UK’s leading female business owners.

The NatWest everywoman Awards celebrate the achievements of female business leaders, seeking out those who are making an economic impact and helping to inspire others.

Since the launch of the awards, the number of female entrepreneurs has increased, with figures from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor showing that 126,000 women-led businesses are started annually. This represents 7.3% of economic growth.

Separate research from professional services and Big Four firm Deloitte highlighted the importance of female entrepreneurs to the UK economy, with women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises contributing approximately £75bn to economic output.

The study also showed that if the number of female entrepreneurs increased by just 4%, it would help to bring their contribution to the economy to over £180nbn by 2025.

The 2018 NatWest everywoman Awards consist of a number of categories, each of which celebrates the most inspirational female business leaders. The deadline for entering the awards is 2nd July, with winners being announced on 5th December.

Commenting on the importance of the NatWest everywoman Awards, everywoman Co-Founder Karen Gill MBE stated that 74% of the organisation’s everywomanNetwork membership insist that role models are a major source for their motivation and inspiration. This, coupled with the broad economic impact of more female entrepreneurs, means that awards continue to be both essential and relevant.
