Accountancy Age reveals top women in finance for 2018

Accountancyand finance magazine Accountancy Age has revealed its Women in Finance 2018 rankings, with top female figures from a wide range of finance firms, including professional services and Big Four firms EY and Deloitte, making the list.

The magazine put forward a list of female leaders to its readers and used their votes to identify the top 20 women across sectors such as business, finance, accountancy and the government.

Influence

Accountancy Age compiled the ranking with the aim of celebrating women who have significant influence, can foster change and spearhead important teams and initiatives.

The magazine also stated that with continued discussions over sexism in the workplace, gender pay gaps and a lack of female leaders, it is more important than ever to celebrate powerful women who are an inspiration to others and are instrumental to driving progress and change.

EY EMEIA Head of Tax for Financial Services Anna Anthony topped the list, followed by Deloitte Managing Partner for Talent Emma Codd and Deloitte North West Europe Deputy CEO and Managing Partner, Global & Strategy Sharon Thorne.

Also in the top five was EY COO Lynn Rattigan, who came in fourth place, whilst EY Managing Partner for Talent Maggie Stilwell took fifth place.

Celebrated

Women from KPMG were also celebrated, with Deputy Chair Melanie Richards earning sixth place in the rankings and Head of Tax, Pensions and Legal Services Michelle Quest and CFO Sarah Willows coming in seventh and eighth place respectively.

Other companies with leading female figures included Lloyds of London, Virgin Money and accountancy firm Grant Thornton.
