Digital workshops to help small Essex businesses
Several free workshops are being launched to help small Essex-based entrepreneurs build up their businesses.
The workshops will focus on the importance of businesses having high-speed broadband, as well as covering other areas such as competitors, business promotions, social media, online sales, how to attract new customers, and blogging.
Essex County councillor, deputy leader and cabinet member for economic growth and waste and recycling, Kevin Bentley, stated that there are many “commercial advantages” to businesses having high-speed broadband connectivity. He added that Essex businesses can benefit from new resources on the Superfast Essex website.
“Improving broadband connectivity is one of Essex County Council’s priorities, to help local economic growth and improve the quality of life for the people of Essex,” he said.
The workshops are being organised in partnership with the Eastern Enterprise Hub, which provides support for entrepreneurs in Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk.
Eastern Enterprise Hub CEO Digby Chacksfield said that the company is “very pleased” to be working with Superfast Essex to deliver “these exciting and informative” digital workshops to small Essex-based businesses.
He added that the free workshops will enable entrepreneurs in the area to gain the knowledge to “further develop their business offerings” and “embrace the opportunities provided by being online.”
The workshops will enable businesses to gain confidence and practical knowledge on how to use broadband to increase their growth rate.
They will be held in Braintree, Ongar, Takeley, and Maldon from 25th February to 10th March, and are suitable for entrepreneurs who are currently based in Essex or those who are planning to set up their own business there in the future.
