Digital festival to return to Reading

The Festival of Digital Disruption

The Festival of Digital Disruption is returning to Reading next month. The event is being hosted by ConnectTVT’s Grow@GreenPark and will run for seven days from 11th June.

The festival will give children the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities, as well as bringing together tech mentors, leaders, and digital innovators.

The festival will include a number of events, with the highlights being the Next Gen Agency Off, which will involve a competition between digital agencies in the Thames Valley. Green Meets Grey will be an educational event that pairs young people from Reading with expert tech mentors.

Attendees will also have the chance to take part in a competition to design an elegant wearable. Families can participate in the Design, Disrupt, Do event, which brings together tech, creatives and hobbyists.

ConnectTVT will also be unveiling The 50 Game Changers, which will feature 50 companies and people who are changing the face of technology in the Thames Valley.

Discussing the event, ConnectTVT co-founder and Tech City UK Ambassador for the Region Louize Clarke said: “Yes, we can say that Reading’s doing really well when it comes to pioneering new digital activities. But the disruption is happening in small pockets.”

She stated that through the festival, ConnectTVT wants to “bring all this amazing work together” and encourage the digital community to collaborate more, adding that that is where the “true potential” lies for Reading and beyond.
