Google to headline Blackpool Enterprise Week
Google is to be one of the headline acts for Blackpool’s first Enterprise Week. The event, which will be hosted by Blackpool Council, will provide a wide range of activities to help local entrepreneurs to grow their business.
Google will be launching its Google Digital Garage at the event, which will be the first time the tech company has taken the workshop outside a major city.
Blackpool Enterprise Week has been created following the success of the town’s first ever Global Entrepreneurship Week last year, which was attended by over 100 people.
In addition to Google, many other major companies will be providing presentations and practical workshops, including Santander and Crowd Funding with Crowdcube.
Topics that will be covered at the event include Financing Your Business, Business Growth, Digital Marketing, Taking Care of Business, Marketing and Selling and Inspiring Business Success.
Blackpool Enterprise Week will take place from 18th to 22nd April and will be launched at Viva Blackpool. There will also be networking events, masterclasses and workshops at the Enterprise Centre on Lytham Road.
Cabinet Member for Business and Economic Development Councillor, Mark Smith, said that Blackpool has “long had a reputation for creating entrepreneurs – people with bright ideas who are prepared to turn them into viable businesses.”
“Through initiatives such as Blackpool Unlimited and Get Started we’ve ensured there’s expert help available to turn hundreds of good ideas into sound businesses,” he said.
He added that the event is a “great opportunity to find out more about ways to grow your business, with all the speakers providing a different area of expertise that can be really useful for business owners.”
