Amazon to host first ever UK academy for small businesses

Amazon has announced that it will be hosting its first ever business academy in the UK for small businesses.

Run in partnership with small business group Enterprise Nation and The Guardian Small Business Network, the Digital Business Academy will provide support to SMEs to help them learn how to use digital skills to boost their business.

Advice

The Digital Business Academy will be open to businesses on Wednesday 23rd November from 9.30am to 4.30pm at Amazon’s Fashion Photography Studio in Hoxton, East London, and will be free to attend.

The academy will enable small businesses from across the UK to learn how to use digital skills to grow their business, increase their export sales and improve customer experience. Businesses across a wide range of sectors are invited to attend the event.

A range of speakers will be present at the event, offering advice on how businesses can get online and boost their revenue, export across the globe and scale their digital infrastructure to grow their business. Businesses will also be advised on how to publish their own book.

Committed

Amazon UK Country Manager, Doug Gurr, commented: “The internet and technology have the power to level the playing field between big and small businesses, empowering the 5.4 million UK SMEs who provide 60 per cent of UK private sector employment.”

He added that Amazon is committed to supporting these businesses in going digital to help them to create jobs, export more of their goods and services and improve the customer experience.
