KPMG’s number of apprenticeship hires reaches record high
Professional services and Big Four company KPMG has reported a record increase in apprenticeship hires in 2017.
KPMG’s recruitment drive has seen a 40 per cent increase in apprenticeship hires, with the number of young people recruited onto the company’s apprenticeship programmes rising to 181 in 2017. This is up from 129 in 2016, and brings the company’s total number of apprenticeship hires to 387.

KPMG will continue to invest in regional business by offering 118 new apprenticeship roles.
The company will be offering young people the opportunity to gain experience on its KPMG360° apprenticeship programme, which lasts for six years. The programme enables young people to work in all areas of the company, including tax, audit and advisory, with apprentices then being able to choose which area they would like to specialise in.
Successful participants of KPMG’s programme will be able to obtain a professional qualification and become qualified to the same level as graduates.
Commenting on the company’s apprenticeship programmes, KPMG UK Apprenticeship Programmes Lead Kathryn Roberts said: “Over the last three years our apprenticeship schemes have become an increasingly important part of our recruitment strategy. We believe recruiting a combination of graduates and apprentices encourages a wide range of people with different skills and experiences to join us – all of which contributes to the diversity of thought we are able to bring to our clients.”
