Financial education offered by over 25% of employers
Research from Employee Benefits and Staffcare has found that over 25 per cent of employers offer financial education initiatives.
The research questioned 271 employers and found that 32 per cent are planning to introduce financial education in the workplace.
The top workplace benefits were revealed, with financial education coming second, offered by 26 per cent of employers. Over 80 per cent offer financial education as a core benefit to all staff, while 2 per cent offer it as a core benefit to some staff.
Financial advice continues to be a top benefit in the workplace, offered by 20 per cent of employers. 9 per cent offer it as a flexible benefit.
This is in comparison to the Employee Benefits and Staffcare research 2014 which found financial education was included as a core benefit for all staff by 14 per cent of employers. 6 per cent in 2014 offered it as part of their core benefits package to some staff.
The research also revealed other benefits offered by employers, with season ticket travel loans being number one - offered by 54 per cent of employers. Season ticket loans have remained a popular benefit over the years, with 28 per cent of respondents offering travel loans as a core benefit in the Employee Benefits and Staffcare research 2017.
