EY to help create 100,000 professional jobs for women

Professional jobs for women

Big Four accountancy firm EY has teamed up with careers site SheWorks! to create 100,000 professional job opportunities for women globally by 2020.

The initiative aims to enable more women to work remotely in the gig economy and help them to feel more included in the workplace.

The scheme was developed to tackle the issue of professional women missing out on work opportunities as a result of being unable to have the right work-life balance that they want to achieve.

SheWorks! was launched last year and currently represents women in over 75 countries. The cloud-based technology firm aims to create 100,000 job opportunities for women over the next two years.

The collaboration with EY now aims to create one of the largest networks of female professionals in the world, with SheWorks! also looking to boost diversity by providing companies with access to professionally qualified women worldwide.

EY has also placed more focus on the gig economy over the past couple of years, with the accountancy firm creating its own tech platform, GigNow, and launching its EY badges programme to help staff build digital skills.

Commenting on the partnership, EY’s Regional Managing Partner for Germany, Switzerland and Austria Julie Teigland said: “We are excited to start this collaboration as we believe that SheWorks! is doing something exceptional in working to ensure that women and girls can increasingly benefit from the use of innovative technologies to join the workforce.”
