Deloitte launches workshops with Pure to support

Professional services and Big Four company Deloitte has launched the first workshop of its Future FD Programme, which is run in partnership with professional recruitment company Pure.

The Future FD Programme has been running for seven years and focuses on the career progression of the next generation of finance professionals by helping them to become financial directors.

Interactive

The first workshop of the 2017/18 Future FD programme took place last week at Deloitte’s Cambridge-based office and provided 20 finance professionals across the Eastern region with advice on how to manage and deal with stress in the workplace.

Attendees of the event were given the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions on the topic, with input being provided by two finance professionals who have progressed to financial director level.

Two more workshops are set to be held over the next year, with the second taking place in October and the third in March 2018. The workshops are free of charge, with attendees instead being asked to make a donation to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Support

Commenting on the Future FD Programme and Pure’s partnership with Deloitte, Pure Director Gill Buchanan said: “We’ve seen the roles and responsibilities of senior finance positions change significantly over the last decade.”

She said that this is why they have joined forces with Deloitte to help support the region’s up-and-coming financial talent to develop the skills required to meet the increasing demands of the role.

She added that the aim of the programme is to help people to progress into positions of leadership so that they can shape a business’s overall strategy, culture and direction, as well as instilling a financial approach and mind-set in the company.
