Global Accounting Network shows demand for interim accountants
Figures from finance recruitment agency Global Accounting Network have shown that more businesses are seeking out interim accounting professionals.
Market analysis from the agency showed demand for qualified accountants to work temporarily, on a contract-to-contract basis, increased with a year-on-year rise of 44 per cent.
According to Global Accounting Network, the rise in demand for accountants comes as a result of more businesses seeking candidates with specialist expertise in order to protect themselves against uncertainty.
In addition to the rise in demand for contract accountants, figures from the recruitment agency also showed more businesses are looking for financial planning and analysis (FP&A) specialists to enable them to have access to better-quality information in the current uncertain climate.
With expectations for this trend to continue, Global Accounting Network Head of Interim Services Hugh Spurling observed, “This can largely be attributed to external market conditions, with businesses possibly unwilling to commit to permanent headcount costs against the current landscape and choosing instead to invest in flexible resources, until there is more certainty.”
