Over 700 jobs to be created in Sunderland

700 jobs to be created

Multi-channel services company Parseq is to create over 700 jobs in Sunderland.

The company, which operates from Doxford International Business Park, is to expand after investing in the development of a new centre at a second site in the city.

Investment welcomed

The company currently employs over 2,500 people nationally, and has now pledged to invest £1 million to help develop the careers of its employees in Sunderland, as well as in its London, Brighton, Rotherham and Glasgow offices.

News of more jobs being created in Sunderland has been welcomed by Houghton and Sunderland South MP Bridget Phillipson, who said that the company’s announcement is “a recognition of the skilled workers we have available locally.”

New jobs

Sunderland City Council is currently working with Parseq to help the company achieve its goal to provide new jobs.

Sunderland City Council Leader Paul Watson stated that Parseq, which provides hi-tech and bespoke customer services, is a “very successful company and represents many blue chip companies and household names.”

“Announcements like this show Sunderland is open for business and we can, and do continue to attract jobs and new investment,” he said.

Sunderland AFC Commercial Director Gary Hutchinson, Chairman of the North East Chamber of Commerce Sunderland committee, said that the expansion was “great news” for Parseq and Sunderland’s economy, and that it will create “a huge volume of new jobs in what is an important sector for Sunderland.”
