Ghanaian business event to be held in London
A business event that aims to increase trade between the UK and Ghana is coming to South East London next month.
The GUBA Greenwich Expo 2016 will run from Friday 20th May until Sunday 22nd May.
Friday and Saturday will focus on the establishment of business growth, with the African Market Outdoor Exhibition on Sunday.
The event was first launched in 2014, and will help attendees to learn more about Ghana. Attendees will be able to network with businesses and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas on bringing African-inspired products into the UK.
There will also be workshops and indoor exhibitions. Sunday’s outdoor exhibition will enable exhibitors to showcase their products.
Individuals from well-known companies will be participating in the event, including Cllr Sunny Lambe of Business Basic Initiative UK Ltd and Rosie Akester, a senior buyer at The Body Shop.
GUBA Chief Executive Officer Dentaa Amoateng stated that the aim of this year’s event is to deepen Ghana’s business relationship with the UK.
She said that the 2016 Expo will “promote Made in Ghana products and services, create awareness and prestige for products and services.”
Greenwich Council Deputy Leader Cllr John Fahy, who will be attending the event, discussed the business relationship between Ghana and the UK at last year’s launch event. He stated that business opportunities between the two countries were vast and required people with the skills to develop ideas.
