Accountancy is one of the highest-paying jobs for students
Accountancy is one of the best-paying student jobs in the UK, according to research from UK jobsite CV-Library.
The research analysed 2,000 part-time jobs across 15 cities and revealed the best-paying roles for students. Construction topped the list with an average hourly rate of £13.58, followed by accountancy with an average hourly rate of £12.34.
Marketing came in third place on the list of highest-paying part-time student jobs, with students earning an average hourly rate of £11.61. This was followed by education with an average hourly rate of £11.04, and customer service with an average hourly rate of £10.35.
The research also revealed the highest-paying cities for student part-time jobs. Leeds topped the list with an average hourly rate of £10.12, followed by London with an average hourly rate of £10.08, Reading with an average hourly rate of £9.91, Leicester with an average hourly rate of £9.84, and Coventry with an average hourly rate of £9.84.
London was found to be the top location for student jobs, with nearly a third of jobs on CV-Library being from the city, followed by Birmingham (11 per cent), Reading (9 per cent) and Coventry (9 per cent).
The top sectors for available student vacancies were also identified in the research. Social care was found to have the most vacancies for students, accounting for 14 per cent of all job vacancies, whilst hospitality was close behind at 13 per cent. Education and admin are also top sectors for student vacancies, with each sector accounting for 10 per cent of all vacancies.
