Revenue of £23.37bn puts PwC at top of global accountancy rankings

Accountancy sector firm PwC saw its network report £23.37bn total global gross revenues for the fiscal year ending on 30 June 2015.

The latest figures, a 10 percent increase on the previous 12 months, means the firm leaps ahead of Big 4 rival Deloitte to snatch the top place amongst the fierce competitors.

Strongest year-on-year

PwC's increases mean that the firm has marked the strongest year-on-year growth since FY07.

The increases were seen over all lines of the business and all the regions that it operates in. PwC US saw revenues rise 10 percent and the UK arm had revenues that grew by 9 percent.

The Middle East, Africa, North America and the Caribbean, and Australasia and Pacific Islands all reported double digit growth.

Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Dennis M Nally said: "Our strongest growth for eight years is a result of the significant investment we have made in recruiting the best people, enhancing the quality of our services and building new product offerings such as data analytics. We have also continued to make key strategic acquisitions to complement and expand our core business."

Top slot

Rival firm Deloitte has been in the top slot for the past two years, and last year its fee income beat PwC International’s £18.48bn.

However, Deloitte Global's most recent reported aggregate revenues hit £23.23bn for the fiscal year ending on 31 May 2015, which meant an increase of 7.6 percent.
