HMRC opens applications for international tax training programmes

Applications for international tax training programmes

Two international training and development programmes are being run by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) after the success of previous similar initiatives.

The new programmes are aimed at senior managers and tax auditors already working in the accountancy sector.

Online and residential

HMRC is organising and providing the training on behalf of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA), and will launch the programmes next April.

The courses include both online and residential learning, and are custom designed for senior professionals. Applications close on Friday, 26th February 2016.

Two courses

The two courses start in mid-April 2016 and run over two phases. The online learning phase is conducted by email with the course director over a period of 14 weeks, followed by UK-based residential training from 25th July 2016 for a further six weeks.

The two parts of the course cover a leadership and management programme called Achieving Leadership Potential (ALP) and the Commonwealth Tax Auditors Course (CTAC), which is a programme for auditors, inspectors, and officers who are involved in investigation, audit, or compliance work.

The ALP course is designed for leaders or managers already occupying senior roles as well as for anyone with the potential to achieve similar goals. The CTAC course is aimed at those with experience in compliance work who want to train new staff.
