Job Purpose
To oversee the daily book-keeping of the business unit, ensure compliance with laws and regulations and provide management information
Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure that the daily book-keeping of the company is kept up to date
- Managing a small team of assistants
- Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments
- Completing VAT returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of cash flow statements, statutory accounts and management accounts
- Dealing with financial paperwork and filing.
- Managing debtors alongside group credit controller
- Management of accounts payable
- Preparing management information for ad hoc projects
- Improving and developing controls and procedures
Skills / Attributes Required
- Qualified ACCA or CIMA with a keen interest in developing practical commercial experience in an exciting business.
- 3+ years of experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience of preparing & filing VAT returns and processing payroll
- An eye for detail and a commitment to doing the job right
- A passion for business and making a difference
- Ability to adjust to a dynamic, exciting and pressured working environment
- Computer literate with detailed knowledge of Sage Line 50
- Must have experience of migrating accounting software from one system to another
- Possess a good understanding of Word and Excel.
