Martin Jones

After working as an accountancy practitioner for 7 years, principally with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Martin gained a wealth of knowledge and is widely regarded as an expert in audit. Martin began teaching in 1994 and was a founder partner in FTC.

Roy Butcher
Academic Dean

Roy Butcher brings more than 30 years of experience in both academia and business to LSBF. As a business consultant, Roy has worked with both private and public sector organisations giving him unparalleled knowledge of conducting business in very different environments.

Career and Experience

Roy has been active in academia for more than three decades, both in senior management positions and lecturing roles. He has also developed and delivered educational and training programmes for clients in the UK and abroad. He has taught at postgraduate level and is also experienced in delivering professional level qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA.


Stephen Humphrey
Programme Director

Stephen Humphrey has extensive experience in the areas of marketing, marketing communications and operations. Much of his career in these fields was undertaken within the telecommunications sector working for major brands like Nokia and US telecommunications giants AT&T.

Career and Experience

Stephen has a background in engineering, IT and technology and has a detailed understanding and experience of concepts associated with these industries. He completed his Masters in Strategic Marketing, and demonstrating his passion for continued learning and development he is currently undertaking his second MBA.


Jon Kitto (DipM, MCIM, FIDM)
Programme Director

Jon Kitto epitomises our ethos of making theoretical and practical learning work hand in hand. He brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge and 15 years of teaching experience to the LSBF faculty.

Career and Experience

With a career in consulting that takes in London, Paris and Boston, Jon continues to work at Director level for a private web solution company and a social marketing agency based in Liverpool. He also finds time to run his own consultancy business specialising in direct marketing material and event management for clients worldwide. As a teacher one of John’s proudest moments was when his students from the University of Westminster won the Institute of Direct Marketing Award.

Jon is an active member of a number of well-known professional bodies. He is an elected member of the Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FIDM), and was Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Kent Branch (CIM). He was also the youngest ever member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing National Council.

For Jon the most important aspect of teaching at LSBF is using innovative teaching methods to promote an understanding of the link between academic theory and practical application.


Graham McDonald
CFA Programme Director

Graham McDonald is a CFA® charterholder and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland with experience in many different facets of the financial world from capital markets through to accounts and auditing. He has taught in the UK (with BPP, FTC Kaplan and 7city) and internationally at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, as well as delivering training in Mumbai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Prague, Budapest, Sofia and New York. He was one of the first six members of the ACCA Examinations Review Board.

Career and Experience

Since 2001 Graham has focussed on financial markets training, concentrating on the CFA and IMC qualifications but also delivering bespoke training programmes for a wide range of clients in the Far East, Central Europe, Africa and North America.


Fred Aikon
Lecturer

Fred has been working and teaching in many business schools and universities, including London Metropolitan University, etc. After working for Financial Business and Training Consultants Ltd, Fred is working for Central College in London as a Director of professional courses.


Ioanna Ampartzoglou
Lecturer

Ioanna Ampartzoglou is a multilingual addition to the LSBF faculty with a wealth of marketing research knowledge and experience as a senior lecturer.

Career and Experience

Ioanna’s career takes in household names like American Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Lufthansa and her academic experience extends to London Metropolitan University, City University, the University of Westminster and South Bank University. She devised an online strategy for Bank of Cyprus UK and she specialises in digital communications, web design, and e-commerce particularly in the education, banking and travel industries. For Ioanna, working with London School of Business & Finance is an opportunity to "work with motivated students and wonderful colleagues". On the best approach to studying, Ioanna urges students to "never give up on trying for something better by improving your skills and knowledge every day".


Ben Botes
Lecturer

The youngest ever President of the European Coaching Institute, Ben Botes is an enthusiastic entrepreneur with two successful start-up businesses to his name and a keen involvement in investing in young enterprises in Southern Africa.

Career and Experience

Mark holds an MBA as well as a Master Coaching Certificate and specialises in the academic areas of Industrial Psychology, E-commerce, and Entrepreneurship. He brings seven years of lecturing experience to LSBF, having lectured previously at Middlesex University, and he is a published author, penning the book "Release Your Inner Entrepreneur" in 2007 (ISBN 978-1-84728-313-9).

For Ben, the most rewarding part of working at LSBF is the day-to-day challenge of getting students to realise the impact of their learning on the work environment. He is passionate about active student participation in class debates and discussions and the need to link theoretical principles to practical workplace skills.


Dr. Raju Chinthalapati (PhD)
Lecturer

Raju is a PHD graduate from London School of Economics. He has vast amount of teaching and working experience in computer science and mathematics. He has published many journal and conference paper in those areas. Also as a junior member in Isaac Newton institute for Mathematical Science at Cambridge University, he was teaching in many highly recognised business schools, such as I.I.Sc and London School of Economics.


Stephen Coe (MA (Cam), FCA)
Lecturer

Stephen Coe gained his Master’s degree in Management Science from Cambridge University before joining KPMG where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He now owns his own company providing education in best-practice modelling techniques, and carrying out consulting work.

Career and Experience

Stephen has worked with some of the most recognisable multinationals in the world. He spent a decade with KPMG’s Management Consultancy before moving on to UBS Warburg, where he taught Financial Modelling. He also contributed to the Corporate Finance theory element of UBS Warburg’s eight-week induction course, run at least six times a year.

Stephen has now been employed in the education field for more than eleven years and brings his wealth of experience to the LSBF faculty.


Dave Coker
Lecturer

Dave Coker has been with LSBF since 2008 and brings more than 25 years of professional experience to the faculty. He holds an MSc in Quantitative Finance as well as an MBA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

Career and Experience

Dave has taught finance part time at Master’s level in the UK since 2003. His research interests include Risk Management, Credit Derivatives and Asset Bubbles and his first book on Finance will be published in the fourth quarter of 2010. During his long career in investment banking and financial services, Dave has experienced firsthand the business environments of no less than five countries and worked for major institutions such as Deutsche Bank, ABN AMRO, Moody’s and Dow Jones.


Feroza Cooper (BA, MSc, CPA)
Lecturer

Since 1993 Feroza has been delivering consultancy projects on UK and US individual and corporate taxation, expatriate tax and accountancy work performed in United Kingdom, United States, Singapore and India. These projects include subcontract assignments from professional accounting firms and corporate training firms. Her client base includes diverse industry sectors such as manufacturing, retailing and services. Feroza also provides executive training in accounting and finance to international corporations in West Africa, Middle East and Far East.


Angela Dalrymple
Lecturer

With 16 years of teaching experience and a career that takes in PricewaterhouseCoopers, Reuters and telecommunications giants AT&T, Angela Dalrymple brings a huge amount of experience to the LSBF faculty.

Career and Experience

Educated at Oxford, where she was also the first ever female president of her college, Angela has lectured at a range of UK universities including the University of Portsmouth, Oxford College of Marketing, LTC College London and Open University Business School.

No stranger to inspiring students, Angela is Deputy Chair of the UK Young Enterprise scheme in south London, helping young people develop business enterprise programmes, and Senior Business Mentor at local schools in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames.

For Angela the best thing about LSBF is the opportunity to meet students from international backgrounds. Her advice to LSBF students is "make the most of your time and new-found friends and contacts in London - someone you meet now may well be able to help you with your career in 10 years' time".


Marcus Davison
Lecturer

Marcus graduated with first class honours from Oxford University in 1971 and worked for thirty years in a wide variety of positions in banking and finance, including a six-year period as treasurer of a German-based foreign trade bank, before devoting his time exclusively to training, lecturing and writing from 2001 onwards. He is active as a university lecturer specialising in finance for MBA programmes with leading Universities including UK’s Open University Business School MBA programme, University of London and Grenoble Graduate School of Management and has undertaken assignments for Georgetown University (Washington DC).


Augustin Entonu (MBA, ACCA Affiliate, CFA® Level II Candidate)
Course Leader

Augustin Entonu holds an MBA in Management Consulting and is currently studying for a second in Finance. In both cases he studied at the prestigious Grenoble Graduate School of Business (GGSB) one of the top European business schools and a key partner of London School of Business & Finance.

Career and Experience

As a former Business Development Manager and Business Analyst, Augustine brings several years of experience to LSBF specialising in Finance, Management Consulting, Operations Management and Investment Valuation and Analysis.

A black belt holder in the Korean martial art Tae Kwan Do, Augustine teaches underprivileged children how to cope with growing up in tough neighbourhoods without turning to violence and gangs. At LSBF he continues his inspiring teaching, striving to develop students to push their own boundaries and be the best they can be. For Augustine the key to success is "a passion for sharing knowledge, a certain level of diligence and never accepting limitations".


John Hemming (FCA, Cert. Ed)
Advanced Taxation, Auditing, Financial Accounting

John has over 30 years’ experience as a tax, audit and general accounting practitioner. For the last seventeen years John has been lecturing extensively, and was a member of the academic board at a College in the West Midlands.


Dr John Paul Kawalek
Lecturer

Dr John Paul Kawalek lectures in Systems Theory, Change Management and Management Consultancy at the University of Sheffield in the UK. He supervises a number of doctoral students and he is also an associate Professor of the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France, one of LSBF’s key academic partners.

Career and Experience

A published author, John has written more than 50 academic papers, and he devised the basis of the INSPIRE programme, a set of change management principles designed to help companies rationalise, optimise and develop performance improvements.

John has wide-ranging experience in different types of organisations, from large private sector organisations such as IBM, Lotus and Jaeger Group to the public sector working for the UK Department for International Development, as well as French government departments. He was a founding partner in an international US consulting company, and he is currently a Director of the Consultancy Academy.


Dr Mark Loon (DBA, MBA, Assoc CIPD, MIMC)
Lecturer

Mark Loon has worked with some of the most recognised multinationals in the world, specialising in the domains of HR and process transformation. Studying in both the USA and Australia and winning university awards in both countries, Mark holds an MBA in Finance and is a Doctor of Business Administration.

Career and Experience

During his many years of professional consulting experience Mark has worked on major projects with such high-profile firms as Ernst & Young, Cap Gemini, KPMG and Morgan Stanley.

A keen researcher in a range of areas including systems thinking, problem solving, leadership, learning, and personality, Mark brings a number of years of experience in academia to LSBF, drawing on his time with Central Queensland University and the University of Newcastle, Australia. Mark has published papers in both the Journal of Managerial Psychology and the International Journal of Human Resources Development and Management.


Baluta Marong (BM) (DipM, MCIM, MBA)
Lecturer

Baluta Marong brings five years of retail management experience to the LSBF faculty as well as considerable lecturing experience. He holds the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualification at Postgraduate level and is a member of the Institute as well as a certified CIM Tutor for its new modules.

Career and Experience

An MBA holder, Baluta began lecturing at City of London College in January 2007 before moving on to London Academy for Higher Education (LAHE) and joining the LSBF faculty. Baluta is also currently working on a PhD programme looking at 'improving organisational performance through customer service'.


Norm Murray
Lecturer

An experienced lecturer, entrepreneur and business psychologist, Norm Murray brings his expertise in strategic thinking and business strategy to LSBF. Norm is ideally suited to the practical real-world approach of LSBF, bringing his background in corporate strategy, leadership and change management to the table, and dealing with the psychology of high-level decision-making processes.

Career and Experience

Norm has a broad range of experience as an advisor to many different types of organisation. He’s worked with everyone from community non-profit groups to high-performing teams and global organizations.

Norm is passionate about developing leaders and providing quality coaching, and when he’s not at LSBF, he’s often invited to guest lecturer at various universities on their MBA or other graduate and executive programmes. He has conducted keynote addresses at corporate conferences, and run seminars and workshops internationally.


Christine Nardiello (BA (Hons), FCCA, CIMA)

Christine is an experienced senior manager and lecturer, and a professionally qualified accountant. She has professional and lecturing experience in accounting, human resources and general management. Christine worked for 18 years at BPP, where she held a number of senior positions including Chief Executive of the BPP Malpas division. While taking care of her general management duties, Christine taught the ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and ATT at BPP. She also taught on Masters degree courses and wrote materials and exams for the programme.


Ken Preece
Lecturer

Working as a freelance lecturer for the past 20 years, Ken has a wealth of knowledge. For many years he regularly presented Technical Update lectures for professional firms, companies and District Societies of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.


Hafeez Qazi (BSc, ACMA)
Lecturer

After qualifying as a Management Accountant, Hafeez has worked for various prestigious organisations in the health, human resources and textile sectors. He has taught professional accountancy courses as a freelance tutor in public and private sector organisations. Hafeez worked as mentor for ACCA-Oxford Brookes degree projects, and is a consultant to telemedia companies.


David Shaw
Lecturer

Published Author David Shaw draws on a lifetime of experience in fashion and retail during which he raised his own career prospects from shop floor to board level. Working for high-street names like Top Shop, Debenhams, Sears and Burtons David has experienced all aspects of retail from buying through to marketing and has a deep understanding of marketing tactics and strategies.

Career and Experience

A valuable addition to the LSBF faculty, David has lectured internationally on a wide range of business issues and was Visiting Fellow in Marketing Research at Macquarie University in Sydney. He has lectured at many UK universities including the Universities of Surrey, Middlesex, Stirling, Nottingham and Manchester, as well as the London College of Fashion, and has developed a formidable body of postgraduate tutoring experience. He is passionate about helping students to translate the theoretical principles of marketing into practical skills and experience.

David has committed the lessons of his career to print. His books include Mastering Fashion Marketing, Mastering Fashion Buying & Merchandising Management, and The Fashion Handbook.


David Jeremy Silverman (SAGE Group plc, Associate Partner)
Sage trainer

An Associate Partner at SAGE Group plc, David has over 20 years’ experience as a consultant in SAGE business software. He runs his own company consulting to a wide scope of high profile clients on SAGE, and implementing audit and internal controls.


Paul Simpson
Lecturer

As the former Head of PR at BBC Radio 1, Paul Simpson brings many years of top-level PR experience to London School of Business & Finance. His career to date includes working as Press and Broadcasting Officer for the Liberal Democrats, Head of Communications at the Government’s Children and Young People’s Unit, and setting up his own PR consultancy focusing on support in the youth, radio and technology sectors.

Career and Experience

As an academic, Paul has six years of teaching experience, lecturing at the University of the Arts London (London College of Communication) the University of Greenwich, Thames Valley University and the PR Academy where he delivered CIPR professional qualifications. His specialist areas are Media Relations, Persuasion & Influence, Rhetoric, Political PR and Public Affairs, and he is passionate about enabling students to get to grips with new thinking as quickly as possible. Paul is passionate about linking PR theory with practical everyday skills that can be applied in the workplace.


Andrew Walker
Consultant / Associate Professor

Andrew James Walker brings 15 years of teaching knowledge to LSBF along with a Best Professor award in 2009 for the EIPM Executive MBA programme, and a wealth of international lecturing experience.

Career and Experience

Andrew has lectured in universities across the UK including the University of Northumbria and Sheffield Business School and has taught in institutions across Europe taking in France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Russia.

With six years of IT consultancy experience, including time with Deloitte Touche as well as working as a freelance consultant for the United Nations, the European Commission, and the Governments of Iran, Nepal and Bhutan, Andrew brings a broad and varied range of experience to LSBF. He specialises in managing major changes in organisational structures, services and resources and is passionate about helping students to develop these practical skills. For Andrew, the key to success as an LSBF student is "a critical perspective, confidence, and better practical skills for finding a satisfying career path".


Dr Mo Willan (PhD, MSc, MA)
Lecturer

Author of the forthcoming publication "Marketing: A Student Companion" and head of his own London consultancy, Dr. Mo Willan has carried out assignments for a wide range of organisations including The Gambia Chamber of Commerce, Coca Cola and The British Council.

Career and Experience

Over the past six years, Mo has trained more than 2000 marketing executives in the UK, Eastern Europe and Africa. He experience is highly sought-after and he is now a visiting lecturer at London Metropolitan University, Oxford College of Marketing, Liverpool John Moore’s University and Grenoble Graduate School of Business.

Since 2007 Mo has contributed his considerable experience to the LSBF faculty, acting as Senior Visiting Lecturer and Module Leader. He lectures on Integrated Marketing Communication and International Advertising and Brand Management on the MBA, MSc and CIM programs.
