In line with our drive to offer you an education that is as industry relevant as it is academically rigorous, when you study for our undergraduate four year BIB + Certificate in Hotel Management programme, you have the chance to develop key practical business skills, with an opportunity to complete a full year’s placement in order to enhance your skills set, to secure top positions all over the world. However, should you opt to continue straight on to your final year, you will still need to complete a minimum of a single six week work placement to complete the course.

This programme will allow you the freedom to hand select the organisation that you wish to work with, although our instrumental partnership with Grand City Hotels and Resorts in Germany, allow you unlimited work placements there. Working with some of the biggest multinationals, you’ll gain an insight into the inner working of a business anywhere in the world.

Work Placement Guarantee

LSBF guarantees you a work placement, with the opportunity to undertake a range of positions including Revenue Officer, Assistant Rooms Division Manager, Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, Finance Coordinator, Guest Relations Officer, Conference & Banqueting Coordinator, Night Audit Coordinator, and Assistant Operations Manager.

Conference & banqueting coordinator – You will occupy a highly respected position in the industry, responsible for arranging overseeing a range of promotional, corporate and social events. In charge of entire projects from planning through to finish, you will be at the forefront of a successful events team, managing conferences and banquets on the day. With this position, you will also need a keen eye for detail, and will be accountable for studying the brand of your organisation in order to identify your target audience to ensure the occasion runs smoothly.

Sales and Marketing Coordinator – As Sales and Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for setting the sales goals for an organisation, and ensuring that they are met. Through effective planning, staffing and training, you’ll lead and motivate a highly respected sales team in order to boost revenue and sales; while also identifying key sources of funds for a company. Sales and Marketing coordinators are accountable for the management of a firm’s marketing resources and activities, planning and overseeing world-class campaigns designed to drive a business forward.

Revenue officer – Revenue officers are primarily responsible for maximising the revenue and profits of a hotel through effective forecasting, and management of pricing. You will be in charge of making sure that the revenue that comes into a business is managed effectively and accounted for. Working closely alongside the Revenue Manager of a company, you’ll occupy an integral position; accountable for overbooking and managing distribution channels.

This unique offer will allow you to combine your experience of the modern business environment with a syllabus that is highly academically focused. You will also have the freedom to secure your own placement anywhere in the world, although we can offer you a guaranteed work placement with Grand City' Hotels & Resorts in Germany, where you’ll draw from the experience of their highly knowledgeable senior management.

When you undertake a work placement in the hotel industry, you get a valuable insight into the inner workings of hospitality management, with a further opportunity to develop the key skills and competences that employers look for. You will also gain hands-on experience of practical events, and learn how to manage a range of hospitality businesses.

Students who do not satisfy the academic or English Language requirements can apply for our Foundation Programme or International Foundation Programme to prepare for enrolment on the next available intake.
