BIB + Certificate in Hotel Management

The BIB + Certificate in Hotel Management programme is designed to offer you a detailed insight into global business and hotel management. This programme will run for either three or four years, dependant on whether you opt to undertake a year's placement ahead of year four; although you will however be required to complete the minimum of a six week placement in order to progress on to your final year of study. The Bachelor in International Business (BIB)

The Certificate in Hotel Management

During the second year of this programme, you'll also work towards a Certificate in Hotel Management alongside the BIB. The Hotel Management programme will provide you with the essential knowledge in business and management that will help to succeed in this vibrant industry. This course will also place an emphasis on the managerial and entrepreneurial challenges of the hospitality world. This internationally recognised course will also offer you an introduction to Forecasting, Operations Analysis, Cost Controlling, Cash Flow Planning and Management, E-commerce, Revenue Management, Optimization of Distribution Channels, E-Sales, Franchise & Branding and Digital Marketing.

Forecasting
The ability to forecast is integral for effective hospitality management. This discipline includes budgeting, staffing and scheduling, inventory management, demand forecasting, and financial proformas.

Revenue Management
Revenue management involves the prediction of consumer behaviour, as well as the optimisation of product availability. It also requires that you keep fully up-to-date with current prices in order to maximise revenue growth.

E-commerce
In terms of hospitality management, e-commerce goes beyond just buying and selling hospitality services online. It also includes the entire online process of developing, marketing, selling, delivering, servicing and paying for hotel services.

Company-Based Learning

In line with GGSB's objectives of offering students a career-focused innovative education, when you study the undergraduate three/four year BIB + Certificate in Hotel Management programme, you will be able to devote minimum of six weeks to a full-time work placement, where you'll gain valuable hands-on skills that will help you to attract recognition from international employers when you graduate. This programme also offers you the chance to complete a full one year placement with the organisations of your choice, including Grand City Hotels and Resorts in Germany. This will not only give you an insight into the inner workings of a hotel, but it will also prepare you with the competencies necessary to succeed in this dynamic industry.

Undertaken between the second and third year of your degree, your work placement will allow you to develop specialist business knowledge and practical experience, giving you a competitive advantage in both your final year and your future career. Those who do not choose to complete an internship year will continue straight on to their final year of study.
