CFA® Full-time Review Classes

Our full-time CFA® tuition runs from March (for June exams) or September (for the December Level 1 exam). Classes run for approximately 15 hours per week over a 10 week period.

The CFA® exams are notoriously tough and one of the reasons for this is the volume of information you have to master, with CFA® reporting that candidates spend an average of 300 hours of study per level.

LSBF students are welcome to use the library facilities at our Marble Arch or Holborn campuses when not attending lectures.

Level 1 Foundation Fortnight

The Level 1 Foundation Fortnight is perfect for those who are unfamiliar with the world of investments. The Foundation Fortnight is designed to help students get up to speed on the basics of the subjects they will be studying when they begin the CFA®.

Whether you haven’t directly studied the relevant topics during your degree or earlier professional studies, or you do not feel confident you have mastered these fundamentals, then it is recommended you attend the Foundation Fortnight before embarking on the CFA® course.

Over the four days (spread over two weeks) we will cover:

  • Time Value of Money – Present values and Future Values of single sums and annuities
  • Investment appraisal techniques – NPV and IRR
  • Measuring risk – standard deviations and variance
  • Measuring return – arithmetic and geometric averaging
  • The portfolio management process
  • An Introduction to the main asset classes – Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Alternatives
  • Introduction to Financial Reporting
