Short Courses in Finance: Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity
As an introduction to the international field of corporate analysis and decision-making, this module pays particular attention to key aspects of mergers and acquisitions, such as valuation and feasibility.
Mergers will be analysed from a historical perspective, and a comparison between Anglo-Saxon business culture with that of practice in Asia and continental Europe. The ability to identify synergies will be developed, along with a good overview of the corporate strategy process and tools of analysis. Whilst learning how to identify merger failure drivers, students will make the most of this unique classroom experience in which each individual will be required to share their ideas and to work in groups on real life bid tactics to value and secure business acquisitions as well as gain a valuable perspective on short and long term investments.
