Short Courses in Finance: Financial Modelling
Financial Modelling
Companies use Financial Modelling as a tool to compare business initiatives and alternative financial scenarios. This valuable consultancy skill entails identifying and manipulating key performance drivers, using a variety of computer software, that allows companies to view and explore a wide variety of financial impact and operational options. We offer three Financial Modelling courses to empower individuals with this essential tool necessary for most of jobs in the finance industry.
Intermediate Financial Modelling
In Stage 1 we focus predominately on providing skills in Microsoft Excel, specifically designed for those individuals who need to use this application within their roles for financial analysis and modelling. Knowledge of basics of accountancy is not necessary for this course, only basic excel skills (creating a spreadsheet, cut and paste etc.) You can pursue Stage 2 (Advanced Financial Modelling) on completion of Stage 1
Advanced Financial Modelling
This course is an ideal follow on to Intermediate Financial Modelling or if you already have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. You will exercise your skills to build a life like model which forecasts the future performance of a company. We also introduce a number of important accountancy issues which are demonstrated through practical scenarios, giving you an edge ofpractical experience outside of the workplace.
A basic understanding of accountancy is a core entry requirement for this course. Students who do not qualify for entry can first pursue an accounting short course (see Accounting for Performance & Control and Understanding Financial Statements).
