MSc in Pension and Fund Management

For the last decade, global pension funds have been in crisis as the working population ages and fewer contributions are made. There is still no universal solution, meaning multi-national companies in this competitive sector require exceptionally trained pension managers to steer their funds through the crisis.

The MSc in Pension and Fund Management is an innovative specialist degree giving students the skills and knowledge to successfully compete in the fund management arena and enhancing students’ employability in blue-chip companies, global finance corporations and independent pension fund institutions.

The programme is composed of 10 compulsory modules and a management dissertation to be completed in a period of 12 months on a full-time basis, or 24 months on a part-time basis.

The 10 compulsory modules are:

•    Corporate Finance
•    Analysis of Financial Reporting
•    Quantitative Methods in Investment Management
•    Portfolio Management
•    Fund Management
•    Pension Legal Framework
•    International Financial Market
•    Actuarial Science
•    Fixed Investment Analysis
•    Equity Investment


In the first semester, the programme will focus on general knowledge of corporate finance, quantitative method and financial theories.

The second semester will consider the specific modules in specific investments for pensions and investment instruments.
