MSc in Islamic Finance and Banking graduates at LSBF will acquire a comprehensive understanding of western banking practices and how they integrate with Islamic finance techniques. As Islamic banking becomes a more widespread and notable sector, particularly in non-Islamic countries, there is a growing demand among financial institutions for trained specialists in Islamic Finance principles.
Graduates will not only be qualified to pursue careers within Islamic financial Institutions and regulatory agencies, but also with multinational investment banks as experts in their fields. Modern employers are willing to pay a premium for graduates with expertise in this growing field, and graduates will stand to significantly increase their earnings.
There are more than 250 Islamic banks worldwide, with at least £300bn in assets, up from £5bn in 1985. The sector is growing at 15 to 20 percent a year. Rising oil prices and Europe's growing Muslim population are driving an extraordinary surge in financial products compliant with Islamic law and as such, opportunities for MSc in Islamic Finance and Banking graduates are available with a range of international banks and more specialised boutiques.
