CAPITAL MARKETS AND INVESTMENTS
Gain an introduction to financial markets in a global setting. You will look in depth at different segments within the financial markets and gain an understanding of the operation and mechanisms of both stock and derivative markets. You will also learn how to identify and understand the key macroeconomic and financial factors that govern financial markets and investment.
You do not require a financial background for this course, however you will need to be familiar some advanced mathematical concepts.

Learn about corporate finance structure and gain knowledge of the instruments used by companies to maximise value. You will learn about tools and techniques used in accounting and corporate finance along with the economic benefits of various types of financing. Gain the skills and competencies required to evaluate investment using discounted cash-flow techniques along with an understanding of the techniques used in both short-term and long-term financial decision making.

Corporate Finance in Practice
The course introduces you to the fundamentals of business finance, analysis and investment. You will gain an in depth understanding of the theory and international practice of capital structure and dividend policies, mergers and acquisitions and short-term financing issues.
The course kits out participants with the ability to manage complex financial operations within companies including growth oriented medium sized firms to established multi-national corporations. The skills learnt in this course are vital to successful employment in banking, consulting and international industry.

This course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the structure of financial markets. You will gain an in-depth understanding of portfolio management while learning portfolio structuring skills so as to achieve specific returns.

Financial Markets: Terminal Trading
Develop the practical skills essential to operating Bloomberg Terminals within a product specific context.
This course ensures an excellent understanding of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) - a powerful tool for developing automated models in Excel. These allow you to create graphics and presentations from Bloomberg Terminals for use in a variety of financial tasks. You will be using Bloomberg trading terminals throughout your studies and as a result you will graduate with real-world skills.

Understanding Financial Statements
Financial statements are used to monitor the performance of an organisation and provide an overview of a businesses' finances, assets and liabilities. Through this course, you will gain a full introduction to the role of financial accounting and an understanding of how to record business transactions in an accounting system, along with the basics of the double entry book keeping system from both a UK and International Financial Reporting Standards perspective.

Accounting for Performance and Control
Through this course you will develop a solid understanding of the principles of cost and management accounting. You will learn the key techniques and methods used and understand the role management accounting plays in various decision making and information generating activities. You will also gain an understanding of how to prepare budgets and other budgetary control statements and learn how to analyse variances and their possible causes.

Financial Markets: Trading and Analysis
This course offers a full introduction to financial markets in a global setting. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the various products, their practical application and pricing. The aim is to give students a thorough understanding of the current state of markets and enable them to read and understand the financial press. Students are required to understand some advanced mathematical concept and therefore some mathematical ability is required.

Intermediate Financial Modelling
This course covers all of the important features in Excel that are used to write financial models. Students will learn best practices on how to build structured financial models and gain an understanding of how to use the different tools available in Excel. By the end of the course, you will fully understand each feature and be comfortable using these tools in the future.

Advanced Financial Modelling
The course is aimed at those who already have an understanding of Financial Modelling with Excel and want to consolidate their skill set whilst also learning further advanced techniques. You will be introduced to a number of important accounting issues and learn how to integrate these principles into financial models. Practical demonstrations of a range of financial situations and hands-on sessions will help you to develop your models which can be used in forecasting company performance.
