Prof. James Kirkbride MPhil, PGCE, PhD
Vice-Rector and Director
James joined LSBF in 2010 as Vice-Rector and Director, bringing with him nearly 30 years of experience. This includes being the founding Dean of the Business and Law Faculty at Liverpool John Moores University. He is also a respected author and Professor of International Business Law, holding a visiting chair at the University of Shanghai.
A widely consulted expert, he has worked for government departments and multinationals like Shell and Halifax. He has also been appointed to key global committees, including the EU-China International Commercial Arbitration Project, as well as advisory committees at leading business schools such as TiasNimbas in The Netherlands.

Karina Kizhner MSc, FHEA
LLM Programme Director
Karina graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Journalism and International Relations, and wrote for a number of leading newspapers while living in Jerusalem, Israel. She then went on to achieve an MSc from the London School of Economics, having written a dissertation on sovereignty and national self-determination which explored the cases of Kosovo and Chechnya. In 2012, Karina also became a fellow of the Higher Education Academy after training in the management of learning and teaching at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Having worked for several internationally renowned organisations, Karina is fluent in multiple languages, including Russian and Hebrew. She is teaching on a number of modules accredited by the Grenoble Graduate School of Business, and is also the Programme Leader for LSBF's LLM and LLB programmes.

Professor Christopher Gale
Visiting Lecturer
Christopher holds an LLB Law degree and an LLM in Employment Law and Employee Relations. His publications have been ground-breaking and include journals on 'The Business of Business Law', and 'Juries: Evidence of Deliberations'. He is also an experienced solicitor and joined Bradford University Law School as the inaugural Director of Legal Studies.
Having spoken on topics such as 'Article 8 and Family Life in the UK', as well as 'Human Rights and the UK's Response to Terrorism', Christopher's expertise is sought internationally. He also successfully oversaw key teaching processes as Head of Undergraduate Studies at Leeds Metropolitan University (Law School).

Varuna Devi Jeewon LLM, ACCA
Associate Lecturer
Varuna is a specialist in Commercial and Corporate Law with years of academic experience. She holds a master's degree in the same areas from Queen Mary University of London, as well as an LLB degree.
An expert in Law and Business, she is a member of exclusive professional bodies. These include the Middle Temple Inn of Court and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Dr. Ilias Kapsis LLM, PGHEP, PhD
Associate Lecturer
Ilias is a qualified lawyer and a graduate of the law school at Aristotle University (Thessaloniki, Greece). He carried out LLM and PhD research at the University of Bristol, and submitted his PhD thesis on European Competition Law In 2005. He has also completed the PGHEP programme, as well as a second LLM thesis on the Law of Sustainable Development.
While at Bristol, he taught European Union Law, Property Law and Medical Ethics. He joined the University of Bradford's law school in August 2008, where he teaches the English Legal System, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, Legal Skills and Competition law. Ilias is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, as well as a member of the Association of Law Teachers and the Society of Legal Scholars.

Dr. Michael Reynolds LLM, MSc, FCIOB, FCIArb, PhD
Associate Lecturer
Dr. Reynolds is a legal expert who has worked as a Solicitor and Chartered Arbitrator for over 30 years. He holds invaluable membership of the Law society, and is extensively published by prominent legal publishers, including Blackwell Science and the College of Law.
As Programme Associate of the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, at The University of Oxford, Michael gained valuable experience from one of the world's top universities. In addition, he worked as General Editor of 'Construction and Engineering Law', a professional publication by CLT publishing.

Natasha Roberts BA, GDL, LPC
Associate Lecturer
After studying History of Art at Bristol University, Natasha took a law conversion course. She completed the GDL and LPC before training at Harbottle and Lewis (where she gained extensive experience in Media and Entertainment Law). She is currently an Assistant Solicitor in the family department of Horsey Lightly Solicitors and enjoys cooking, scuba diving and horse riding in her spare time.

Jonathan Price MA (Cantab), lic. sp. en dr. eur., CDip AF (ACCA), FCSI, Barrister at Law
Associate Lecturer
Jonathan holds degrees in Law (from Cambridge University) and EU Law (from the Université Libre de Bruxelles). After being called to the bar in 1981, he studied Accounting & Finance and practised as an investment banker for 25 years. In 2011, he was appointed a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Bahar Hatami Alamdari LLM, LLB
Associate Lecturer
Bahar holds an LLM in International Commercial Law from Queen Mary University of London, as well as an LLB from Tehran University (Iran's highest ranked). She is an expert in the field of International Arbitration and her legal experience covers several areas of practice. She has contributed to leading international arbitration projects such as the 'Investment Treaty Forum' and related research in international dispute resolution. Bahar has also participated in international arbitration competitions including the Willem C. Vis moot in Vienna.
She is a member of the LCIA Young international Arbitration Group, the School of International Arbitration and the Solicitor Regulation Authority. She regularly contributes to the BBC world television services and is currently completing a doctorate on Arbitration in Banking and Finance.
