An event that provides support and inspiration to small businesses is to return later this year.

Small Business Saturday, an annual nationwide event which is now in its fourth year, is set to take place on 3rd December 2016.

Events

This year, it will feature a number of activities. These include a bus tour to provide workshops and advice sessions, and the Small Biz 100, which highlights one small business each day in the 100 days leading up to the event.

It will also include a new feature, the Small Business Saturday Podcast, which will provide information on the event and other business-related topics.

Embraced

Small Business Saturday UK Director Michelle Ovens MBE spoke of the success of last year’s event, stating that it was embraced by small businesses, local authorities, other organisations and the public “more than ever before.”

“The British public has a great affection for small businesses and tapping into that continues to be important. The small businesses themselves really make the campaign as they effectively deliver it on the ground and collectively show the depth and breadth that exists within the sector,” she said.

She added that the aim this year is to engage more people and encourage them to show their support for small businesses.

Last year, over £620 million was spent with small businesses from across the UK on Small Business Saturday – up by 24 per cent from 2014.
